I am a longtime soft pretzel aficionado. When I see one, I almost always order it. Here are my thoughts and general rankings on local soft pretzels. But don’t just take my word for it, go check them out and let me know your thoughts (especially if I missed a good one)!
I anticipate updating this list if and when I try new pretzels.

The classic
Old Heidelberg Bakery: the most classically German option, and one of the most limited hours. Bring it home to have your own dip options. Hard to compare with other options served warm with dips.
If you’re looking for this in a restaurant setting, you want to check out Brat House or Edelweiss. They both serve a warm traditional pretzel in a more sit-down environment.
The ok
Copper Blues: extra soft pretzel sticks, on the buttery side of things. Pair with something strong.
Arizona Wilderness: salty pretzel bites, on the firmer end of the spectrum. Nothing to write home, about but will do in a pinch.
Original Gravity: their menu is so good, I would simply order something different.
Arrogant Butcher: sticks served with a cheese fondue. It wants to be fancier than it is.
The pretty good
Pedelhaus: a classic, safe option with mustard and beer cheese like every brewery. Pair with something light.
OHSO: similar to other breweries, but they try to put their own spin on the usual dips.
First Draft: I don’t eat here often, but this would be what I recommend. Larger than average, size-wise.
Whiskey Row: this is a can’t miss here (and almost made my top tier). Theirs is soft, garlicky, and served with a lovely honey Dijon mustard. It’s also one of the cheapest on this list during their long (3-7pm) happy hour.

The top tier
Starving Artist: this could’ve been my no. 1 if they still served it with cheese, mustard, and a peanut butter sauce. It’s still a top tier pick with just the first two dip options on the current menu. Pair with a sour.
Grand Ave Brewing: the elite, best of the best. Different seasoning options, served with the classic mustard and beer cheese if you go savory. Pair with a flight of their most popular pours.

The Salted Knot: a farmer’s market treasure. Perfect serving size for individual snacking, with the widest flavor range of anyone on this list. If you see it, don’t pass it up.
