Phoenix’s Longest Happy Hours

Sometimes, it’s hard to make it to happy hour. As someone who works til 5 most days, I never have a chance hit up deals that end at 5. Here are the best longer happy hours.

Original Gravity

Happy hour is 3-6 Tuesday to Saturday and all day on Sundays, with deals on drinks and select appetizers. My recommendation: the white sangria and the polenta fries.

The Sicilian Butcher

They have a constant happy hour if you sit in the happy hour area, with deals on food and drinks. My recommendation: the sliders.

Formation Brewing

Newly open downtown, they have happy hour from 3-6pm (excluding weekends). The service here is top notch, and their menu of deals includes a lot of food, from shareable snacks to actual meal items. My recommendation: a frozen drink and the tanglers.

Hula’s

They do all day happy hour on Wednesdays, with 3:30 – 6 happy hour on other week days and 10 – 3:30 on weekends. They have deals on basically every drink on the menu, and deals on food. My recommendation: the lettuce cups and the Zombie.

Alexi’s

Their happy hour is every weekday until 7pm as long as you sit in the cocktail area. My recommendation: the blackened chicken Caesar salad and the appletini.

Clever Koi

Their happy hour starts when they open and ends at 6, making it great for lunch deals with $2 off half the food menu and $11 cocktails. I recommend a Mai Tai and the chilled sesame noodles.

Valentine

All day until 5, they do half price bottles of wine—an outrageously good deal when you realize they open this to their entire selection. This is the best brunch or lunch deal on the weekend. Their staff are excellent at recommending something from their large list. My recommendation: have the seasonal savory danish and talk to Theo about drinks.

Postino

They also do an all day happy hour until 5, including weekends. Their wine selection is more limited, but they also have a few beers on tap. Sadly, no food deals. My recommendation: the bruschetta, the cauliflower, and the $5 beer pitcher and the orange wine.

Honorable mentions

Mi Patio

If you’ve ever driven by, you’ve seen their massive $4 margarita banner. Obviously, that’s the drink to get. Their happy hour is from 2-6:30pm, but the margarita deal is constant.

Sottise

This place is a little more expensive than most of the others on the list for dinner, but their 3-7pm happy hour stacks up against the best. It’s a small list of deals but they pair well together, especially the $2 oysters and the sparkling rosé. My recommendation: add a side of fresh bread to those for a cheap and tasty appetizer.

Rice Paper

This Vietnamese place does deals from 11am to 6pm on drinks and from 3-6pm on their spring rolls. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a cheap glass of wine or beer with lunch.

Sandfish Sushi + Whiskey

They do all day happy hour Sunday through Thursday, and from 4:30 to 6:30pm on Friday and Saturday. It’s still pricey, but that’s the time to go!

My to-do list involves checking out Vesper’s, Palma, and Smiths on 7th—so expect this to be updated!
