Midtown/Uptown Phoenix gets less love than downtown, but it’s often cheaper and just as good. These are some of my favorite choices. All include multiple cocktail options and accompanying deals on food.

Hula’s Uptown

Not only does this tiki bar have amazing deals on food, they do happy hour all night on Wednesdays. If you’re looking for a mid-week girls night or date spot, this is the place! Outside of the (fantastic) tiki classics, I love their blood orange martini. Beware: the drinks are strong.

Alexi’s

This restaurant has a classy white-tablecloth environment and a dedicated happy hour section, so be sure to get seated at the bar or in the lounge. Happy hour runs until 7pm, and includes a variety of food options, beer, and cocktails. They specialize in martinis and similar drinks. You won’t find a better deal on this list (or anywhere).

Ocotillo

With one of the most beautiful outdoor spaces in the city, this is a can’t miss happy hour. Their smoked beets are out of this world. While their cocktail menu for happy hour is small, they also have deals on wine.

Lylo and Say When

These two concepts, both at The Rise Uptown, are both great cocktail spots. Although their trendiest drinks (looking at you, Dole Whipped) aren’t on the happy hour menu, I’m always satisfied with the variety of more classic options available here. My go tos at Lylo are the caipirinha and mojito, and I love adding in passionfruit! At Say When, they have more American classics.

Belly (for a reverse happy hour)

I never stop loving the menu here, even with their consistent switch ups.

Across the Pond & Clever Koi

Like Say When and Lylo, these are sister concepts located next door to each other. Both serve great food (sushi at Across the Pond, Asian fusion at Clever Koi) and have a killer cocktail menu.

Honorable Mentions

Mi Patio — for their constant special $3.49 house margaritas.

Kings Beer and Wine — don’t be fooled, it’s not just a liquor store! They have the best beer, mead, and cider selection of anywhere.

The Casual Pint — a go to for a more chill beer spot. The name fits well.

Postino — for deals on wine and beer prior to 5pm
