I’m very committed to the East valley, so I’m surprised I’ve never made a Chandler-centric post before! Here are some of my go-to options a little further south of downtown.

Favorite Snack: Rewind

Their boba and their service are the best! I recommend the signature rose latte if you’re looking for something Instagrammable and the mango black tea for something more classic. They also do soft serve for those who aren’t tea people.

Favorite Lunch: The Living Room

Call me biased because I used to work nearby (and I love a work lunch), but lunch at The Living Room is my favorite way to go there. They also have a nice happy hour and are good for dinner, but sitting in their outdoor lounge space for lunch during an Arizona winter can’t be beat.

Favorite Happy Hour: The Sicilian Butcher

Instead of a time frame, this restaurant has a dedicated happy hour section. I recommend sitting there for fabulous deals on food and the HH-menu-only meatball sliders. This place can get a little pricey if you’re outside happy hour but it’s definitely worth a visit.

Favorite Date Spot: Hidden House

This place is just the right amount of fancy and very cute. I love the ambiance, especially outdoors at night. Their cocktail menu is fantastic, and I want one of everything. When it comes to food, the truffle mac puts a classy, grown-up spin on a comfort food classic.

Favorite for Groups & Families: Truland Burgers + Greens

Despite the name, they do plenty of things besides burgers and salads. I like the amount of options they have for vegetarians and gluten free people, and the family style sides. Get the sweet potato tots with garlic aioli and thank me later!

Favorite for Casual Drinks: The Sleepy Whale

If you’re looking for unique beer or other low ABV options, this place delivers. I enjoy their casual atmosphere and the tabletop games they have available.

In all honesty, downtown Chandler has tons of great options for drinks— enough for at least one full day bar crawl. Having checked out a lot of the spots available, and not being a big drinker, the Sleepy Whale is a standout to me.
