I personally eat and enjoy gluten, but I have loved ones who can’t, so I can vouch that these recommendations please both crowds!
Breakfast & Brunch
Presidio Cocina Mexicana
This Midtown spot is the most underrated brunch in Phoenix, without a doubt. I think their horchata is the best I’ve ever had. As long as you stick with corn tortillas, their whole menu is gluten-friendly.

Giving Tree Café
This place is made for those with dietary restrictions! The kitchen is fully gluten-free, vegan, and organic (and not just open for breakfast and brunch). They definitely give off hippy vibes, but in the best way. If you’re up in Sedona, their sister restaurant ChocolaTree is also worth checking out.
Snacks & Dessert
Of course, the greater Phoenix area has a selection of delicious ice cream and gelato, but if you’re looking for something different, there are more exciting gluten-free choices.
Urban Cookies
Despite not being personally gluten free, I regularly order gluten free cupcakes from Urban Cookies because I can’t taste a difference. They nail flavors, textures, and presentation. While the cupcakes are my favorite, they also do cookies (of course) and donuts, with vegan options in everything.

Scoopwell’s Dough Bar
Scoopwell’s serves edible cookie dough in a variety of flavors, with the option to add extra toppings. It’s basically an ice cream parlor, but with cookie dough! They do a gluten-free classic chocolate chip, but their gluten free white chocolate macadamia nut dough is particularly good.
Mahalo
This local pop-up is a must follow on Instagram! Their Hawaiian shaved ice is different from the usual ice cream and absolutely gorgeous. It’s a perfect refresher for a hot Arizona day.

Lunch & Dinner
Jewel’s Bakery and Café
This restaurant has a fully gluten free kitchen, so everything on the menu is safe (and delicious)! Their menu is classic American fare, with options for dairy free, vegetarian, and vegan people as well. They aren’t open for dinner, but their portions make for a very filling lunch– you’ll need to take home leftovers if you order their famous chicken and waffles.

Postino
I’m obsessed with their bruschetta boards, which they can also do with gluten free bread. This place is always a crowd-pleaser, and one of the best happy hours in Phoenix.

Belly Kitchen & Bar
This Vietnamese restaurant packs phenomenal flavors into every item on the menu, from their claypots to their specials to their fantastic cocktails. I could eat here every day!

Glai Baan
There’s nowhere better for Thai food in the valley– their menu is super authentic and full of exciting gluten-free options. The wait for takeout can be super long, so I recommend calling to order before 5:30/6pm or making a reservation to eat in person. Their space is adorable and makes a great date spot.
